I beg to differ on your procedure for fixing and recovering a card and its data, it is foolhardy to format over an already corrupt system with the intention of data recovery, any read/write action up and above what is absolutely necessary will invariably damage files even more, reducing the chances of recovering that data.
ReplyDeleteAny recovery program worth its salt will be able to recover data from a card whose system is corrupt or damaged and as long as it can be read data can be recovered.
I know this because I have just recovered over 350 images from a bad Fujifilm 4GB SDHC card using Easeus Data recovery Wizard Pro. The option used is Complete Recovery when a card is displayed as RAW or windows asks "Do you want to format this card", virus attack, and a few other issues like corruption from software crashes.
I would not recommend attempting to format a card prior to data recovery unless you want to lose those precious images.
